A man, reportedly in his forties, has been arrested in connection with the December 2016 death of Marisule resident, Rose Anne Raymond.
A well informed source disclosed that the arrest was made on Friday morning.
The source indicated that charges related to Raymond’s death are likely to be laid on Monday.
Police reported receiving a report of a homicide in Marisule at about 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2016, and upon investigating discovered the body of the 76 year old woman at her residence.
Raymond was later conveyed to the Victoria Hospital, where she was pronounced dead by a medical practitioner.
A post mortem examination determined that she died as a result of asphyxia secondary to ligature strangulation
A red station wagon, PA 484, belonging to the deceased, had been seen parked opposite the NIC building, Waterfront, Castries, between Friday, December 9, 2016, about 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, December 11, 2016, about 2:00 a.m.
