PM speaks on Ubaldus Raymond controversy

Prime Minister, Allen Chastanet, has spoken for the first time publicly on the controversy involving Minister in the Ministry of Finance, Doctor Ubaldus Raymond.

“It is under investigation,” Chastanet told reporters today when asked about the matter.

The Prime Minister observed that someone had been arrested.

“We will wait to see the outcome and how information unfolds,” Chastanet said.

He expressed the view that Raymond had done “the right thing” in going to the police.

“Let’s see where that goes,” he said.

According to Chastanet, at this point there was nothing else he could say other than that.

Smart Response Mr. Prime Minister. Don’t give the naysayers anything to feed on. My government will make a decision after investigations are complete. As of now we are not rushing to judgement.

There is no one more dumb and ignorant than “sad but true”. Poor chap if the devil came to town and made himself known as the devil and joined the “Sorry Losers Program” he would have the whole hearted support of “Sad but true” solely on the premise he is a member of the Party.

This Chastanet has now showed he only care about his own a gender in 2 cases. Where is that Sara Flood that so called moral compass. Minister Of Agriculture and Minister in the Ministry Of Finance has done things to women and the Moral Compass and the PM has no answers for the public.

Chastenet is right. Ubaldus did the right thing when he realized he was up against blackmail, of course if he really took those pics and engaged the young woman in these sexual interactions, that was not the right thing. If Ubaldus loses his case, will Chastenet then do the right thing and fire him if he has’nt yet asked him to resign? Let see. That makes no difference as far as Im concerned. If the pics are real, which Ubaldus has yet to deny, then he should do the right thing now and get out.

      I agree.
He was being blackmailed, he did the lawful thing.
that being said, he wouldn’t have gotten into this situation if he kept on the moral path he CLAIMED he had.

the girl and ubaldus never engaged in any sexual activities. there’s proof all over. even when she denied him, he asked for her friend and once again was denied. the only reason he had her arrested is because of his ego and also she had his naked pictures in which she asked for money. yes she was wrong for this. but funny part is, she did not expose him, whiles she was in custody and the investigating officers had her phone the pictures were then leaked.

Both are to blame in this case but I doubt a teenage girl fully knew of the consequences this matter would have had.

the girl did not leak his pictures, as she was in custody whiles her phone was obtained by the officers for investigation. the girl been in custody since Wednesday, the pictures were out by Thursday night, the girl’s parents paid bail for her Friday afternoon. why isn’t the officer who was left in charge of the phone for investigation being questioned? why isn’t mr. minister in custody as well?

They should fine her two hundred thousand dollar for being so evil and wicked. My pm you did the right thing . They are trying to distroy this government and they will do anything to see how they can destroy it. This is so sad for the two lawyers and the one opposition that is pushing this. Uboldus has done nothing wrong, it is the young lady who did harm to him and the law needs to drop a heavy fine on her so other people can learn from this. How can you put naked false photos on social mefia to blakmail someone and people out there calling for the man to resign.

Why are at Lucian purposely acting ignorant we are now condoning crime because the person it was perpetrated against is a minister or senetor that is on the opposite side same thing done on the other said as well I remember young men who.have committed crimes have been vilified and ready to be hanged even before the out come of the case yet the young lady is the victim for attempting to extort money from a minister (which is the only crime here) who she claims to have pics of which could or could not be doctored our culture is rediculus it’s ok for women to commit crimes and get a soft touch or slap.on the wrist but who to the male you will feel the brant of our wrath

By not suspending or dismissing Dr. Raymond who is now morally tainted and ethically challenged, the PM is sending the wrong message to the other Ministers that they have an unfettered license to expose themselves to young ladies. His response (PM) to the public outrage over this vulgarity seems to be dismissive. Confidence in this present government to do the right thing has been irreparably shaken. From reading between the lines, the PM is squarely placing the blame on the young girl and absolving Dr. Raymond from any culpability. The non-action of the government clearly indicates that we are losing our sense of outrage. The gov’t response also shows that politics has become polluted. Our communities are suffering from a proliferation of immortality and our politicians are contributing to this decadence.
