Consultation to improve services to victims of violence

Press Release:-Raise Your Voice Saint Lucia Inc will host a two day consultation on Tuesday January 17th and Wednesday January 18th, 2017 at the conference room of the National Mental Wellness Centre from 9:00 am. Funding for this project has been provided by the United Kingdom High Commission.

Day one of the consultation is aimed at discussing existing processes and procedures, day two participants will identify and formulate improved protocols and procedures in an effort to provide better physical and emotional support services to women and children who are victims of rape, sexual assault, domestic violence, child sexual & physical abuse.

The general objective of this project is to provide across the board, uniform, cohesive, friendly and sensitive support services for women and children who are victims of violence.

Participants for this consultation are employees of social services agencies (social services, health, justice, education, RSLPF), the media, NGO’s and CSO’s.

The consultations will be facilitated by Professor Lori K. Sudderth, Ph.D. Professor of Criminal Justice, Quinnipiac University, Hamden, CT USA.
