ST LUCIAN TEAMS ANNOUNCED AS FINALIST IN THE 2016 DECA IDEA CHALLENGE

Press Release:-After rounds of evaluation two teams from St. Lucia have advanced to the final round in the Global Entrepreneurship Week DECA Idea Challenge 2016.

The DECA Idea Challenge is a premier event of Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) where student teams are dared to tap into their creativity and reinvent plastic water bottles into an original creation. Student teams were evaluated on a 3 minute video pitch of their new invention in three categories: Elementary, High School/ Middle School and College/ University.

St Lucia was among over 2,000+ submissions from over a dozen countries around the world and the creations derived from the challenge were simply amazing with our young St Lucian innovators advancing to the finals.

Students from Banse La Grace Combined and Ciceron Secondary Schools will vie for cash prizes of US$500 and US$750 respectively.

The St Lucia Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture congratulate all students, teachers, volunteers and mentors who were engaged in the GEW DECA Idea Challenge 2016.
