ECCO Boss: ‘Ninja Dan’ has served his time

Eastern Caribbean Collective Organization for Music Rights Inc (ECCO Chief Executive Officer, Steve Etienne, has been speaking publicly about the the release from prison of former Soca Monarch, Jonathan ‘Ninja Dan’ St Rose.

St Rose reportedly visited the ECCO office in Sans Souci shortly after his release yesterday.

But he did not get to meet Etienne who was out of office at the time.

“My understanding is that Jonathan ‘Ninja Dan’ St Rose has served his time as decided by the law of the country and the legal system and has been duly released in accordance with that,” the ECCO  Boss told the Times.

He believes that justice has spoken.

“We obviously must uphold the laws and the instruments of our court system and ensure that we observe them,” Etienne declared.

He noted that there are a lot of opinions about the ‘Ninja Dan’ matter.

However Etienne said Saint Lucia has a system of justice where persons who deviate from the law are charged and have to serve  time.

“Having served their term they are now to be incorporated into the society,” the ECCO CEO observed.

‘Ninja Dan’ in an earlier interview with the Times had indicated that he wanted to return to music.

Etienne expressed the view that once someone has served his time as required by the law they can become reintegrated back into the society.

“Whatever skills you have as a human being, as an artist, as a performer – any form of skills should then be put back to good use. Certainly in the case of  this gentleman he was certainly a creative person who had a huge following,” the ECCO Boss observed.

He said Ninja Dan’s achievements are on record.

“There is absolutely no reason why he cannot pick up his life where he left off,” Etienne told the Times.

‘Ninja Dan’ and two co-defendants, Mervyn Nelson and Lynden Blasse, were charged with the February 14, 2009 murder of Dwayne ‘Chubby’ James.

James, of Maynard Hill, succumbed after being stabbed.

All three defendants were freed yesterday after serving some eight years in prison.

Former fan i agree with u… not once he mentioned he was sorry for the convenience he has caused to the man (victim) family, but he wants to say he is a change man. my heavens … not once. All he keeps saying he is a change man.. what does that mean, he will not kill again?.you guys keep on forgetting that this same man was working in conjunction with rise st Lucia telling ppl to put bad boy life down before he killed that man.

Did he not say that he felt sorry for the family? And that the three were victims too because they had to plead guilty just to get out of jail?

      Judge not. All have sinned.

As someone who was not there, rely on the evidence. They were arrested immediately right? Where is the evidence of the crime being committed by any of the three? If there were witnesses where have they gone? And where are the witness statements?

Open your eyes people, nothing is as it seems.

In the end all will pay for their sins. Let Jah make the call.

…show me one person who apologises for a thing that they did not do…there is no shame in pleading guilty to gain your freedom…neither is there shame in serving your time…but he did say that he emphasizes with the family of the victim…that shows his growth and his worth…

Dont worry you’ll the judge set free Ninja Dan and co.To make music save souls and set their evil heart’s free while the victim family have a lifetime of grief, while their love one dead and buried.what amazes me is that i still remember the so- called story the media told.He was at home and the 3 called him and a argument ensued, i can go on did Ninja Dan really get arrested or was this all a script for music and movie promotions.
