‘Ras Ipa’ to appear in court

Peter ‘Ras Ipa’ Isaac is down to appear in court today on charges of using threatening language and assault, law enforcement sources have said.

The President of the Vendors Association is accused of having assaulted a contractor doing remedial work on the Vendors Arcade on October 26, 2016 at around 5:30 pm.

Prior to the alleged assault, Isaac is also alleged to have used threatening language.

He is reported to have been served with two summonses in October last year by Officer Yone Camchon of the City Constabulary.

‘Ras Ipa’ is due to appear in Court ‘D’ in Gros Islet.

He faces a fine of $1000 on each of the two charges as well as the possibility of six months imprisonment on each charge.

Why do so many people take pleasure in other people’s misfortune? This place lacks empathy. Everyone errs occasionally. I’m not at all defending the accused as justice should prevail. Just infuriated by the frequent negative comments especially when someone runs afoul of the law. No one is infallible.

Stop the negativity. Why when somebody makes a mistaken in judgement we have to talk about their personal lives. Remark on the situation not on their private lives. Talk about the injustice that the person did. Don’t rejoice. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but keep it real. He not caring for his daughter or whatever happening in his personal life has nothing to do with his appearance in court. Stop the gossiping for us on yourself. The world would be much better. Peace and love. Stop the hate. Won’t it be great if we just stop and say Lord help us to live in peace and unity. Let our people be more productive in all we do . People I know sometimes it’s hard but we need to forgive and forget. The world would be much better. A smile is contagious.
