An ex-cop who is reported to have foiled a robbery attempt on a tourist, has been commended by National Security Minister, Hermangild Francis.
Francis, a former Deputy Police Commissioner, told reporters earlier this week that he received information that a guest from one of the hotels in the north was robbed.
“Fortunately for us an ex police officer was on the scene – he saw it and he was able to make an arrest,” the minister stated.
He said he did not want to mention the name of the ex-cop.
“He knows himself, but I want to give him some kudos for doing that,” Francis said.
“This is what we are asking for. If you think you have the ability to do it, then do it. If you don’t have the ability then at least pass the information to the police and we will work on it.”
