Mother gets help for baby’s surgery

A mother of Trois Pitons, Castries, has reported receiving the help she needs to pay for urgent surgery required by her baby.

Christal Jorney, 30, said since the Times published her story yesterday, she has received word that the  $US 22,000 operation will be performed.

Jorney told the Times that baby Toya,  her first child,  was born in August with a cleft palate.

Later, Doctors discovered that the child’s heart was abnormal.

The child also has two holes in her heart, a heart murmur  and a dislocated hip bone, the mother explained.

She disclosed that the surgery on her child has been scheduled for March.

The mother had been trying to raise funds on her own by selling food.
