Pit bulls are not to be treated as equals with mongrels. Pit bulls are very dangerous breeds, they are to be properly confined. The owner should be detained for his/her irresponsibility

You seem to forget that a pitbull is genetically manufactured for a reason. Now I will agree that a good owner will be able to train the dog well, however, having a pitbull has become a fashion statement. The people who follow that trent are not too bright.

Thereis a reason why It is illegal here to breed and sell those dogs. They should charge the owner.

Many big cities have banned these dangerous dogs. The Authorities should at least regulate this inhumane “black market” in selling, teding and breeding these dogs.In my opinion all dog owners should have their dogs registered with a government run version of the spca, aspca.By implementing these regulations all dog owners would have to pay a yearly licence to have their dogs which also makes sure that dgs are properly vacinated and raised in sanitary living conditions. TOO many times you see these posts on facebook with individuals who claim to be dog breeders … and it’s sad and heartbreaking to see the living conditions of the animals.

The st lucia media as well as the barbados media is doing a very poor job with this story.

According to the report after the investigation The attacker of the elderly woman was an akita crossed ridge back. The owner of the dog also owns a 9 month old pitbull as well as two other pit bull cross dogs, that all joined the scene later. It was reported that the female akita cross ridge back was in heat and anyone who know about a female dog in heat will understand y the others followed.due to neglegence on the owners part by not repairing a hole in the fence, the woman lost her life..
I’ve owned pitbulls from 1993 to present and ppl have a very wrong concept of these dogs…..so plzz Mr st lucia times and other news sources the breed needs no more stains to its name. Get it straight b4 u report to the public….and to those who don’t know I am a Lucian living in barbado s so I am not jus saying. ..this isn’t a hear say…this is facts….read the barbados Sunday sun for the full story
