Your words are like that of an idiotic fool and you write like one. Cursing in public is an offense and is only because you guys get away with it that you feel you have the right to. We don’t ever stop to think about the people around us before we speak especially our children growing up and when the same children turn around and curse you’ll then you want to hit them.you guys are the very reason why children feel they need a weapon

Absolutely, we as parents need to be resolute, strong, courageous and supportive of each other to save this generation. Why should we leave it to our sons and daughters to discipline our sons and daughters? This is our job as parents, lets do it collectively.

About time the youngsters start standing up to authority as police in St.Lucia violate people everyday, shoot and kill peoples family so KARMA sounds great. I AM IN FULL SUPPORT OF MY KIDS AND MYSELF STANDING UP TO ANYONE IN AUTHORITY ESPECIALLY THE POLICE. They do the most crime home and cover up their family crime. The boys should have cripple and make an example of that officer.

It is sad to think of this stupidity but even worse to take time to write it. People like you are the reason for this decadence in society! I feel sorry that this is the way you feel. Initially I thought you were a child because you sound like one but you spoke about “your kids.” I am just hoping and praying that you are not a kid with kids.

It is amazing that in a society filled with rage and lack of understanding, with no direction, with indiscipline coming from those who purport to be our leaders, we expect our youth to be so well disciplined. All those who are quick to condemn, all those who are beating their chests and spewing out the form of reprimand that ought to be imposed upon these young men, those holier than thou hypocrites who have never one day cursed in public or in their lives, who are spotless and are as clean as driven snow, should now step up and decide on a course of action that would fix our broken values. We are so quick to punish, so quick to pass judgment, yet we are the very ones responsible for all the animosity and ire that our youth carry inside. Society is rife with double standards and the “do as I say” attitude does not ever make for cultivating disciplined youth. It takes a village to raise a child! Quit sitting in your living rooms and wallowing in judgemental rhetoric while our youth waste away in prisons because of something you created. Find a way to stem the tide of the lawlessness that pervades our society instead of wasting time and energy thinking up ways and means to exterminate our youth. Judgments and punishments won’t cut it. One mother’s sorrow is the sorrow of all mothers. Be united in building, rather than breaking down. It appears that the only time St Lucians unite is when it comes to destroying each other…some of us cannot wait to call damnation on others. These young men came from the womb of women. And who are we to call these wombs accursed? Stop! This is not about how anybody feels anymore it is about our youth…their future…the future of a nation…of a country! After we are gone with all our judgments and acts of vengeance, we leave our youth to wander in the wilderness of disgrace, shame, rage, hatred and the legacy will continue. If we are so full of hatred ourselves, how can our youth feel any differently? We fail to realize that these young people feed off the energy of that hatred. Satan can never correct sin, for hatred breeds hatred. We are giving them the necessary tools to behave the way they do and while we would like to blame their parents, there are external influences which play a major role in the shaping of our youth. Bring back the old fashion values! Wake up, People! This not about young people being wayward it is about us as a whole. All those who claim to be “good” step up and be the change you want to see, instead of casting stones. “The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.”-Edmund Burke

Give them work to do some of them have no respect for their teachers… farless… make them visit the elderly, go to a daycare and read to little ones, paint castries city, clean their community, etc and ensure they write a report at the end, and allow them to present that report to other students in their age group at other secondary schools. I AM SO DISAPPOINTED! And I know on of the boys from form 1 he has been nothing but a tick.
    COMMUNITY SERVICE FOR THEM !

As a Lucian I feel so sad about the above events and the comments expressed. It seems that most people are confused as to how to address these problems with our youth lack of respect for authority. So I will offer guidance to the established authorities in this scenario. And all I would add is that I agree with Edmund Burke’s quote. Thus I will not stand by and do nothing. Change is coming and it’s called “hope”. Hope for our youth and strong community values and discipline. And above all respect for authority. But this cuts both ways, “Authorities must not abuse their powers” and when they do, strong sanctions must be put in place or the whole system breaks down as we are witnessing now. Stay Blessed St Lucians and be strong. Let our conscience be our guide.
