Dennery community to return to Multipurpose Court for 3rd KED – Street Arena

On Tuesday, February 21st, the community of Dennery will return to the Dennery Multipurpose Court for the third annual KED – Street Arena. Chief organizer Kevin Emmanus promises an exciting evening of football. He believes that this event has stood the test of time and is here to stay. Kevin Emmanus, a now 20-year old entrepreneur from the community of Dennery stated that this venture was just the vision of “an 18-year-old wanting to see things happen in the community”. Emmanus further explained that he had no idea how to execute this initiative but has a passion for football and as a young male in the community; he saw the need to engage his peers in meaningful and productive activities.

The competition is a 5-a side knockout/League. Tuesday the 21st will kick off with the knock out competition and the league tournament to commence on Saturday February 25th. The winner of the knockout leg will receive $500 cash while the Second Place winner will receive $200. However, the league prizes are different; First Place will receive a cash sum of $1500 in addition to a trophy. The Second Place winner will be awarded $750.00 and $500.00 will be awarded to third place.  Registration is one hundred dollars ($100 per team). Each registered team will receive a starter pack at the commencement of the competition. Registration is open for 5-a-side teams from the communities of Dennery, the Mabouya Valley, Praslin, Mon Repos and Micoud.

There will also be games and prizes for the entire family. Activities commence at 6:00 pm sharp with an exhibition match.
