A 24 year old Vieux Fort woman was shot in the leg by a masked assailant as she and a male companion walked along Clarke Street in the southern town at around midnight last night, the Times has been informed.

The woman has been identified as Tisha Collymoore of Bridge Street.

Collymoore and her boyfriend, identified as Yannick Dormant, are reported to have been accosted by a masked gunman who demanded cash.

According to information, when the couple responded that they had no money, the gunman ordered them to leave the area.

It is reported that as the couple left, Collymoore was shot in the left leg.

She was transported to St Jude Hospital via an ambulance which was summoned to the scene.

A few days earlier on Monday, February 13, 2017,  at around midnight, David Raymond alias ‘Pumpkin’ sustained a gunshot wound to the arm when one of two masked men who showed up at his home in Bruceville, Vieux Fort,  opened fire in his direction.

The masked men fled after the shooting.

What is the significance of getting her age correct? Will it change the fact that she got shot?

i dout he was aiming for the woman, most these fools with firearms can’t shoot. oh they can pull a triggerbut where the bullet hit is another issue. He was probably firing a victory shot and hit the girl. the leg is actually a difficult target

The only people that would be allow to walk the streets of st lucia at night would be the criminals. Maybe they will start shooting and killing one another. When will the senseless violence end . The police need to focus on getting these guns off the streets.

It seems strange to me that a shooting would take place two people walking a man and a woman, and they would shoot the woman and leave the man.Did the shooter know the female.Or is the criminals targeting women now.

We are so quick to call on the Lord when bad things happen. Do you not know that the Lord does not hear you cries, why? Because you do not keep his commandments. Do you not know that we are in our current conditions due to sin. Yes the sins of our fore parents who disobey God and followed the heathen nations. No convince…. Read Deutoronomy Chapter 28. The whole chapter. And if you are interested to know more about who you are as a people and what to do to be covered by God’s grace visit and learn who you and the people of the Caribbean Islands are

Right now the new right is wrong and the new wrong is right, we brought this on ourselves especially when people believe they have so much rights those days but you know what it will take a miracle to control this level of violence.
