US President calls T&T Prime Minister

Trinidad Express:-WITH the deadline date for the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) drawing nearer in Trinidad and Tobago comes word that Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley held discussions with United States President Donald Trump in a phone call yesterday evening.

It was uncertain what particular topics were discussed between both leaders, but a news release issued by the Government stated that around 4.40 p.m., a telephone conversation was held in which Rowley and Trump “spoke about a number of issues of mutual interest to Trinidad and ­Tobago and the United States”.

The release, which was issued late yesterday evening, stated: “The leaders agreed that both administrations would continue working together on matters ­including security and trade.
