Are we neglecting the underprivileged?

Castries, Saint Lucia – Monday, February 27, 2017: Raise Your Voice Saint Lucia Inc. The National Initiative to Create Employment (NICE) is a direct investment in the social well-being of the underprivileged, specifically women in desperation circumstances and unable to provide their basic needs i.e. food, shelter and clothing, to them this social safety net was seen as an oasis of hope and security.

Raise Your Voice Saint Lucia Inc. is concerned the Government of Saint Lucia has failed to initiate any new social policies, initiatives or investments to create employment for the vulnerable, nor increase resources to the Ministry of Equity, Social Justice and Empowerment to shield and assist the vulnerable.

Raise Your Voice Saint Lucia Inc. calls on Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Economic Growth, Job Creation, External Affairs and the Public Service, Hon. Allen Chastanet, to move with alacrity to replace NICE with new and better employment and economic policies to provide opportunities, safety and security for women and girls who are being victimized and abused because they are not economically and financially empowered before the elimination of this critical social safety net for the vulnerable.

Raise Your Voice Saint Lucia Inc. is concerned for the survival and well being of women and children who are victims of violence,

underprivileged and underrepresented amidst the thirty eighth (38th) year of independence.
