Senior citizen attacked in Castries

A senior citizen was attacked by three youths near the Castries market on Friday, the President of the Vendors Association, Peter ‘Ras Ipa’ Isaac has reported.

Isaac said the incident occurred on Friday at around 7 pm.

“There was an old man coming from work or wherever and he was robbed by three persons right by the stairway going to to the ┬áprovision market,” he disclosed.

Isaac told the Times that three young men accosted the elderly citizen and robbed him of his bag and other items before escaping.

The Vendors Association President estimated that the victim was in his sixties or older.

“He was not a young man,” Isaac explained.

He said the incident happened in full view of a number of people.

Isaac told the Times that the victim was a local, adding that not only tourists are targets but Saint Lucians are being frequently robbed as well.

In recent weeks there have been a number of reports of attacks on persons near the Castries market.

Gutless niggers picking on the old and defenseless. Too bad the people in the area didn’t catch these (Words deleted) and hold them down, for the old guy to exact revenge. That old guy wasn’t old all his life. I bet he could still awing a mean belt strapping. Teach those (Words deleted) a real good lesson. But sadly that would only happen in a perfect world. St. Lucia need bring back public lashing.
