Soufriere, St. Lucia – Eight (8) recruits were fortunate to be part of the Soufriere Regional Development Foundation SRDF team effective March 1st, 2017.
Seven of these recruits will serve in the capacity of Warden at the Sulphur Springs Park and Docks and the other Ticket Collector at the Sulphur Springs Park.
“The new Wardens are a welcome addition to the Sulphur Springs Park and Dock. Their inclusion will strengthen the capacity of both teams and it is something that we needed urgently” said Security Supervisor Lennox Perpie.
The recruits were part of a three day training seminar facilitated by the organization as part of its capacity building development program.
The aim of the training was to better equip the participants to implement their duties competently and effectively.
The training which was facilitated by Corporal Marvin Herman and assisted by Sylvester Darcheville, Administrative Sergeant attached to the Soufriere Police Station, focused on key areas such as basic security procedures, report writing and customer service.
Mr. Perpie added that additional training will follow to fortify their abilities as they are transformed to security officers.
The security and wardens training program will continue at the end of March.
