United and Strong ‘disgusted’ by sex video

The LGBTI advocacy group, United and Strong, has said has it is saddened and disgusted over a video which has been circulating on social media showing young boys engaging in sexual activity.

“We are disgusted by this because really and truly this is reflective of the sexual exploitation of young children and that is what we are worried about at the end of the day,” the Advocacy and Communications Officer of United and Strong, Bennet Charles, said.

Charles expressed the view that too often in this country young people are exploited, especially sexually.

He recalled that in the past videos of young girls in school uniform have been circulated.

“Somehow some persons find some level of pleasure in posting these on social media and getting some form of feedback,” the United and Strong official stated.

He disclosed that his organization recently held talks with the Director of Human Services, Elizabeth Lewis, who shared the sentiments of United and Strong that perpetrators must be caught and dealt with.

Charles asserted that if the perpetrators are under age some sort of intervention must be made.

“Th worst thing and the sad thing again is that sometimes you can hear in the video persons coercing those young children into  engaging in the act and that  is the sad thing about it,” he said, adding that it may not have been the first time that it was happening.

Charles expressed the hope that the authorities would be able to track down the source of the video and deal with  the persons who made it and coerced the young men.

He spoke of the need to educate children about sexual violence and sexual abuse, noting that persons can take advantage of the innocence of children.

“I think sometimes we leave our children in the care of friends and  family members and sometimes the environment that we think to be a  safe environment is not,” Charles declared.

He said the recent case was not isolated.

According to Charles, United and Strong spoke with the Division of Human Services in Saint Lucia which confirmed that the video was from this country and that the matter is in the hands of the police.

He said it was ‘frightening’ that so many young people are being videotaped having sex and the videos are being posted on social media.

Charles urged persons who receive such videos to report the matter to the authorities, noting that when others share the videos they are in effect promoting child pornography.

I would arrest the person who video it. For all who knows it might be him who send the kids to do such. I only hope the authority do something about this because when it was Ubaldus and that young lady, which was consensual let me see St. lucians made noise about this one.

Now lets be fair to every one
1 who partakes in these videos
2 are the participants doing so on their own free will
    3 who records the scenes
4 who circulates the videos or first to post them
when all these questions are answered then Mr charles you have the right to be enraged
it is my view that all who are recorded wanted to be recorded
the age of the smart phones have not made our youth smart it has made them more dumb

Some mothers know and encourage their kids to do because they get some kind of money from it. Even then they keep their mouth shut because it does not matter if they exploit their kids or not all that matters is the money for them. There is a woman who keep her mouth shut even when her 5 year old daughter caught a sexually transmitted disease. She claim the child got it by sitting on a hot stone. The father took the child to the doctor because the mother herself claim she had been smelling a fishy odor on the child but she refuse to get the child tested. She keep saying she have no money. So the father took the child. There the child got tested and the results said she had an STD. 5 year old child. Then the mother say the grandmother can cure the coolant so now I guess that St. Lucians can go to the grandmother and stop going to doctors. Also that mother claim she did not have money to take the child to doctor but she was able to hire a lawyer when the doctor reported the case to human services. Amazingly the lawyer was able to talk so well he convinced the magistrate to send the child back to the same place where she got the disease. So who is there to protect the children? Human services people and police and social workers are not able to do anything. Hence the reason why it all has to begin at home. The mother knows who did this to the kid yet she will never speak. Also the same people who the kid trust will do it so why should the mother talk when it could be a family member doing it? What can human services or child protection services do? People need to come out and talk.

So true, Mr. Charles or should I say Ms. Charles, stop talking crap. We all know you are gay and you represent gays and lesbians. Speak to your colleagues about this. I am sure they are the ones responsible for doing this to our children, making them think they are united and strong. Sodomites.

Another example of the rampant victim shaming in St Lucia. We are essentially supporting the sexual predators and creating a hostile environment for the weak and abused.

A young girl is coerced into sex by a predator who then shares the video online. We praise the perpetrator by sharing and liking his video, then we judge and admonish the young ladies who were duped into being video taped. Some of these people are under the influence, unaware or merely just young and foolish. We are quick to judge them for being victimised, as if we were never young or never made mistakes. So whether its a young school girl, a homosexual or someone of reduced mental capacity, they are still a victim of a sexual crime. Sharing of pornography of under aged persons is a crime against the subject of the video. Less we forget that, let us at least show empathy and kindness to each other in times of adversity. He, who have not sinned, cast the first stone.

We should condemn the predator and counseling the young victims of sexual manipulation.

It is rather sad to see that instead commenting on the sexual exploitation of young, and under aged children, people are bent on sullying the character of others. This is not about the sexual lifestyles of certain persons or of the person who brought this video to light. It is about the sexual abuse of children which seem to be quite prevalent in St Lucia and about those who remain mum on the issue. This kind of violation of children and young people should not be condoned. Let us stop with the ignorance and the backwardness. Let us at least make an attempt to protect our children against the sexual predators among us. I do agree with Bennett Charles, for regardless of who he is, he has the presence of mind to decry it and to call for an investigation into the matter. It is his right as a citizen of St Lucia and as a human being. The Ministry for Human Services and the child advocates should come forward and speak out against it and investigate it. Let us educate our children about this issue and let us not put to shame those who find it necessary to publicize it. We do have a problem of child sexual exploitation in St Lucia and we should stop trying to sweep t under the rug by shaming others who speak out. That kind of behavior is absolutely disgusting.
