Castries, March 14, 2017 – The public is being invited to help choose the colour of an iconic building in the City of Castries.
The Castries Constituency Council which houses the City Police Department, City Hall and the Office of the Mayor is continuing with rehabilitation work on its Peynier Street building.
The reception and customer service area, as part of the project’s first phase, will be located on the ground floor with a facelift to the existing structure, to give customers an accessible and inviting reception area.
The second phase will include the transformation of the City Hall into a state of the art auditorium. The outside will be repainted – and this is where the council needs your assistance.
The Council’s Chief Executive Officer, Miss Anselma Calderon said: “We plan to paint this well-loved building in a ‘vibrant’ colour which reflects and compliments the future plan for this city. We want the public to choose the colour from a suggested shortlist.”
The public can choose from a sample of six colours that are painted on the outside of the office building. The colours can be viewed and voted for.
Miss Calderon added: “We value the population’s involvement on what the colour should be. We take pride in our history and buildings like this should be enhanced and preserved whenever possible. I think this remodeling is long overdue and I’m hoping the public will appreciate the chance to influence its final appearance.”
The makeover of the office building is part of plans to improve the operations and current work environment.
