Public invited to help choose colour of iconic building in Castries

Castries, March 14, 2017 – The public is being invited to help choose the colour of an iconic building in the City of Castries.

The Castries Constituency Council which houses the City Police Department, City Hall and the Office of the Mayor is continuing with rehabilitation work on its Peynier Street building.

The reception and customer service area, as part of the project’s first phase, will be located on the ground floor with a facelift to the existing structure, to give customers an accessible and inviting reception area.

The second phase will include the transformation of the City Hall into a state of the art auditorium. The outside will be repainted – and this is where the council needs your assistance.

The Council’s Chief Executive Officer, Miss Anselma Calderon said: “We plan to paint this well-loved building in a ‘vibrant’ colour which reflects and compliments the future plan for this city. We want the public to choose the colour from a suggested shortlist.”

The public can choose from a sample of six colours that are painted on the outside of the office building. The colours can be viewed and voted for.

Miss Calderon added: “We value the population’s involvement on what the colour should be. We take pride in our history and buildings like this should be enhanced and preserved whenever possible. I think this remodeling is long overdue and I’m hoping the public will appreciate the chance to influence its final appearance.”

The makeover of the office building is part of plans to improve the operations and current work environment.

Firstly I think we need to change the way of thinking before changing the color however to put my five cents I think
The shade of Grey is good if that is accepted then I think we need to change the color of the city police Uniform the city police must look outstanding and unique from the rest

When I used to drive taxi, the tourists would always admire the white police uniform. Truthfully those uniforms were impressive with the white helmets. Those guys should wear that uniform in the city.

Anselma need to drop the pretense. She already knows that yellow is the preferred color that will be chosen by her and her rabid flambeau cohorts such as Fortuna Belrose. It is the signature color of these band of victimizers hiding behind sham praying and religious theatrics,

If we never cleanse our hearts and free our minds of hate, malice and judgement; then how and why Do we expect St. Lucia to do good?. Luke 6: 27 (King James Version bible) But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, 28Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you. 29And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also. 30Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.
