A parent who attacked a female Castries Comprehensive Secondary School (CCSS) student on a street in the capital has been arrested along with two others who were involved in the incident, reliable sources have told the Times.
According to reports, the downtown attack last Friday was caught on video which went viral on social media.
Well informed sources told the Times that the downtown attack appeared to be linked to a fight that took place at the CCSS in January, in which a female student was picked on by three others in connection with alleged cyber bullying.
Since the school incident, the three student attackers involved were suspended and the mother of the attack victim has brought charges against them, it is reported.
The mother of the victim is reported to have also retaliated by confronting one of the students believed to have been a member of the suspended trio.
The mother is reported to have attacked the uniformed 15 year old on a street in Castries at around 4 pm, prompting at least one passer-by to intervene.
The mother is said to have been joined in the attack by another one of her daughters and another individual.
The teenager sustained multiple bruises and her school uniform was torn, according to information.
Education officials have become involved by,among other things, offering conflict resolution services to all involved, the Times has been informed.
