Woman arrested in Goodlands homicide

A woman has been arrested in connection with the stabbing death of a man at Goodlands today, police have told the Times.

The deceased has been identified by law enforcement officials as 39 year old Cletus Edward.

According to the police, he was stabbed during an altercation with his common law wife.

Reports indicate that the two had been at loggerheads since last night.

The stabbing occurred at around noon, according to reports.

Neighbours told the Times that the couple, who had three children, were high school sweethearts.

Always so sad when a couple crosses the thin line between love and hate and one parent kills the other leaving the children traumatized.
How can the children reconcile the fact that mummy has killed daddy and now mummy is in jail? So who will be there for the children?

Hi School sweetheart with 3 children? Two things she should have thought of before taking such action. The time they have been together and the children. Thinking of it, maybe he was showing more love to another woman and she didn’t want to give up for another woman after the time they have been together and the children.

I think that shows the sad truth in Saint Lucia, MEN DO also get abused by women too and have too much pride to admit it and even both genders find something like that so strange to happen, which makes it worse..but it does happen…

Ladies and gents. Let’s not hasten to judgement when we know not what happened. It could’ve been another woman, it could’ve been an abusive relationship, it could have been self defense or intentional. Let’s not make conclusions until we have all the facts.

Why are Lucian quick to point fingers. Get the freaking facts before flapping your lips. Hence the reason you people are in such a deporable state. Stop being judgemental. You people carry the same behaviour where ever you roam.

Another family in mourning. This is happening far too frequently. Sincerest condolences to all the relatives of the victim. I am still flabbergasted by the deafening silence of the PM as the murder rate escalates unabated. The PM may not be able to stop crime but at least try. Leadership is found wanting. I know of another island where there are two murders for the year. The leader of this particular country has spoken out vociferously and has vowed to put all possible measures in place to mitigate criminal activities. All Mr. Castanets wants to do is to pontificate about tourism investments. Although that is important, citizens’ lives matter more.

My condolences to the families of the man and woman involved. My heart goes out to the children. My God guide their way. Now – all I hear is of violence in tho small Island of St Lucia that country is not big enough, does not have enough growth and yet so much crime. “hurry come up” the Nationals of St Lucia ought to be ashamed of their image in the World. Why are the two parties SLP and UWP not condem what is going on Chasnet has not “spoken out ” on the violence and crime? At least if the Nationals know his stands they might be a bit more apprehensive. This Guy only looking for money and selling St Lucia when there are no morals in the country . The same people he sell the Island to will ask back for their money. Believe me there is no reason or gain in selling St Lucia and St Luciaians out. These St Luciaians are sleeping when will they wake up? This Guy Chasnet does not have your interest at heart …. REARLY…..WAKE UP

Chasnet does not give two hecks about the Nation. The money the Island is being sold for will go in their pockets as usual. We never had that much crime and mishandling of Government with any of the other Leaders this Chasnet is putting a blind eye to the CRIME. Why try to bring in more people when you cannot control what you have. They running wild like “Sheep in pasture” We need someone who can Govern, he cannot, by all accounts. You guys (St Luciaians) better get ready to speak Cantonese when they take over your COUNTRY. If you do not stop it now it will be too late

I was waiting to see how along it would take an ignorant fool to blame this act of craziness on the prime minister. So sad for our people. We never take responsibility for our actions and we never realize most of this is our fault for letting he devil into our lives and we sit and blame others. Get off it.

    1. St.Lucian
      April 10, 2017 at 9:29 am

I agree with your comment, people need to take responsibility for their own actions. At the end of the day she’s an adult of sound body and mine, in other words, she’s not insane. She has her own self to blame. The Prime Minister didn’t put a knife in her hand and said stab this man. SMFH, some Lucians are just too dumb, they blame everything that is happening in the country on the government and not the individual (s) that commits the crime. Wake up St.Lucians!! We all have choices in life to make and we live by our decisions we make in life.

Crime has increased in this world, signs of the times, can’t blame the prime minister, we have to value life and respect each other. Unfortunately those two who once loved, allow themselves to be controlled by a short period of hate,so sad.Condolences to the families of both.

People stop blameing each other, remember we are leaving in the last days, believed it or not christ is coming soon, the devil is working, cause he no he has a shot time,he said in his words behold I come quickly and my reward is with me. The devil don’t want us to get that reward, don’t let him wine.

To the commentor St. Lucian, u may have not realised what u were doing, but saying “she has her own self to blame” suggests that she, the accused, was blaming the PM, when clearly she had no time to be commenting on social media being in police custody. Be careful how u mince ur words, sir/ma’am, it might save u one day.

Lucians will always be lucians they gonna blame it on the PM and someone has the adarsity to say it’s better that it’s the man than the woman. Come on people you never know where you may end up or be the next PM where you want a country to respect you. Condolences goes out to the family and I feel really sorry about the 10 year old is tramatized.
