Dillan Delice, the nephew of deceased stabbing victim, Cletus Edward, has said that the woman who is alleged to have stabbed him had threatened to kill Edward.
“Over the weekend the two had a heated argument and she was saying: ‘I am going to kill you Cletus!'” Delice recalled.
The nephew said yesterday afternoon as he stood opposite the house where the two were, he heard crying.
According to Delice, when the crying continued for a few minutes he realised that something was wrong.
He disclosed that he called the couple’s last son to enquire what the problem was with the boy’s mother.
Delice said the youngster went to the house to investigate and came barging out, exclaiming that Cletus Edward was dead.
“When I went inside I saw her lying on him and crying – he was on the floor with his eyes wide open,” Delice said.
He said he immediately summoned the authorities and raised an alarm.
“It is sad you know because we spoke to him about her, you know they had their heated arguments – they broke up, they came back together; you know – men, you can’t have their feelings for them so he went through and that was the end result,” Delice explained.
The deceased has left three children behind, the last one being ten years old.
Delice said the deceased had been stabbed in the chest and on the left arm.
“Abusive relationships – they don’t work,” he declared, adding that persons who find themselves in such a relationship should leave.
“Move on. Being on your own, learning your strengths and weaknesses is even better than being with someone who you think loves you and then there is a big lie,” Delice asserted.
He recalled the recent incident in Ciceron where a woman was allegedly stabbed to death by her boyfriend on her birthday.
Delice said his uncle, Cletus Edward, was stabbed to death on his girlfriend’s birthday.
“Yesterday was her birthday,” he revealed.
The girlfriend was arrested by the police.
