SLP calls on Prime Minister to obey the law

Press Release:-The Saint Lucia Labour Party is calling on Prime Minister Chastanet to point out where in the Standing Orders of the House of Assembly or in the Constitution of Saint Lucia or any reference book on Parliamentary practice can the Prime Minister instruct the Speaker to remove a procedurally correct motion laid by another member from the Order Paper on the day when it was slated to be debated ,without consultation with the member who proposed the motion .

Saint Lucia is governed by laws not the rantings and whims of an arrogant Prime Minister. The SLP will always be guided by the law and is never afraid to challenge anyone who transgresses the law.

The Prime Minister must not treat the people of Saint Lucia as his servants but must at all times observe the law.

No threats, intimidation, acts of vindictiveness or victimization will ever frighten the SLP to abdicate  its duty to the people of Saint Lucia and not stand for law justice and democracy.

The SLP warns the Prime Minister that it reserves the right to take the required and necessary  action to stop him from breaking the law and stands by its parliamentarians in their justifiable and legal action by walking out of Parliament on Tuesday 4th  April 2017.

It’s great to see that most anyone can become the leading news headline by simply e-mailing out a press release.

Since when was a political party’s press release simply cut-and-paste to be the lead news headline. That’s nothing but shameless advertising.

It also lends credence to suspicion about possible bias in reporting by a media outlet.

If one wants to read political or business press releases, that what their web sites are for.

SL Times, you have, and can do better for your readers.

    God Bless.

as for as i see it the slp has no case
    they grasping at straw
trying to make a case for their childish behavior
why dont they hold the speaker responsible for removing the motion
was it the pm who removed the motion
it is said it was removed at the request of the pm ….what load of bull
if the pm had ask to go shoot pip and she did it
would the pm be blamed for the speaker actions
the slp cant deal with they being out of power so the are now using every trick to destabilize the government typical slp …

But never said anything to Kenny when he did signed the agreement with grinberg with out the governor general knows anything. Did we ever heard he told Kenny he didn’t followed the law.? How bias .Pierre .Hillier. And the rest of the team to coat law in the house .just to make people believe .we’re working for the interest of the people.
