Female murder suspect, Leandra Pierre, made her first appearance in court today in connection with the stabbing death of Cletus Edward, 39, of Goodlands.
The stabbing occurred on April 9, 2017.
Pierre was remanded in custody until May 11, 2017, when she is expected to appear in court at Gros Islet.
She is accused of having stabbed Edward to death following a dispute at their home at Goodlands.
The couple had three children.
Neighbours said the female murder suspect and Edward were in an abusive relationship.
A post mortem examination conducted upon the body by Dr. Heather Emmanuel determined the cause of death was cardiac tamponade secondary to stab wound to the chest.
The death is reported to have occurred on the birthday of the alleged assailant who is 34 years old.
