Suspected bandit hospitalised after beating

A suspected bandit who robbed a shop in  Babonneau of an undisclosed sum of money is currently in hospital nursing multiple injuries after reportedly being severely beaten by the shop owner and some residents of the neighbourhood, the Times has been reliably informed.

According to information, the incident happened on Sunday after midnight.

It is reported that the three men, one of them armed with a rifle, held up the shop owner and left with a sum of money.

Exact details of what happened next are sketchy, but the Times was told that one of the suspects was held by the shop owner and neighbourhood residents as the others fled.

The suspected bandit was severely beaten, resulting in him being hospitalised.

Photos of the naked, bloodied suspect wearing what appears to be a mask, have been circulating on social media.

      Mr. Victorin,

You hit the nail right on the head, I remember at one point asking if i should allow the person who broke into my home to kill me when he found out that there was someone in the house and then after I am dead run to the police station or call 999 and say jack kill me come and get him.

Good news about the beating of the bandit. Since seeking redress through law enforcement and the courts is a waste of time then nothing beats an old fashioned beating!

To assault and rob someone of his hard earned money is such a wicked act. The business owner was plying his trade after mid night, long hours of hard work. These lazy thugs like easy money. After besting him, they should have paraded him through the community then beat him again. No mercy should be given to these vagabonds . Make him a public example. No bail, straight to jail. Hope he gets a hefty sentence.

St Lucia times you got your story from a reliable source, like really. No money or items left the shop. Isn’t it a crime to expose a nude photo SLUtimes? Not even the date is correct that’s very unprofessional. Let the police inform you next time. So attempted murder is not a crime? There’s so much I would love to say but I need to be careful as well as the guys, I mean very, very careful.Guys, Slutimes and the readers don’t know what I’m talking about, they are clueless. Myself and the ones who did the beating are the only ones who know exactly what I’m talking about. Young man all the best the truth will be revealed one way or the other.

Why the hell is the nude photo? I wonder if we are watching the same pic. All I can clearly see is a topless individual protected by a mask. But maybe again he could be your brother or a family member. Whichever it may be, I certainly do not feel sorry for HIM. Get a( delete) life.

The family should seek legal advice you’ll beat up the fella to wear a mask no cloths, took photos and sltimes entertaining that. And then in future we want to feel sorry for people paying for their sins.SMH. So slutimes after that wonderful sorry and photo I’m just thinking we can take justice into our own hands now. Slutimes SMH. He has family too and friends. Guys after joy comes sorry u better believe that

@Eyewitness – If you want the people to know what transpired stop writing parables. If you don’t want to elucidate this matter, then stop commenting and don’t muddy the waters. Crime is a monumental problem in St. Lucia and the criminals are scarcely apprehended. So when any criminal is caught in the act, he/she deserves to be made a prime example of what vigilante justice is like.

“Violence begets violence” if the shopowners and his friends had time to deliver their form of vigilante justice, they could just as well have held him until law enforcement officers responded.
The beating could’ve been fatal with the shop owner facing manslaughter charges and a lifetime of regrets.
Who’s knows, those thieving thugs might want to retaliate for the beating the perp got.
