Residents of Anse La Raye take an Earth Day pledge

Press Release:Castries, St. Lucia, April 21, 2017- Several organizations in Anse-la-Raye, including Youth On Fire Movement, 1987 All Stars Sports Club, and the Anse la Raye Village Council will join millions from around the world in commemorating World Earth Day.

The Anse-la-Raye community organizations will be engaging in a Clean-up Campaign from the Roseau Bridge to Au Pos Estate in the constituency.

It will serve to bring awareness to the littering problem that exists, as well as encourage persons to keep their surroundings clean. The event, which is endorsed by Parliamentary Representative for Anse la Raye/Canaries, Hon. Dominic Fedee will take place tomorrow, Saturday April 22, 2017 from 7am.

World Earth Day is celebrated every year on April 22, after being first observed in 1970. It serves to sensitize people on various environmental issues, as well as social issues such as the hunger crisis. This year, World Earth Day falls under the theme: “Environmental and Climate Literacy”
