Pierre concerned about RSL workers

Opposition leader, Philip J. Pierre, has expressed concern about the imminent closure of loss-making Radio Saint Lucia (RSL).

The planned closure of the station was announced on Tuesday by Prime Minister Allen Chastanet during his budget address.

“I am concerned about the human element – it’s people who work there,” Pierre said.

He told reporters that there must be concern about the employees at the state-owned radio station, their future and their families.

According to the Castries East MP, it is not just a matter of closing the radio station.

The leader of the opposition Saint Lucia Labour Party (SLP) questioned whether the government has an appropriate plan in place for addressing the concerns of the workers at RSL.

Whats happening in St.Lucia? Its actually being governed. Why keep something open if its operating at a loss. If you what to keep it open go pay of advertisement so that they could actually make money.

Pierre what are u suffering from ? I think to my mind you are power hungry. Are u really concern about the RSL workers, or trying to collect some cheap political points.Man you have to be honest with yourself and let’s deal with what’s confronting us today .Stop the politicing we all have a right to be concern but let’s do it with a sense of purpose not politics.

Give Castanet half a chance and every state owned utility will be privatised. That’s how CEOs think. At the rate he is going he is of the mind to privatise even the country.

Those rsl employees were not productive. Some found time over a 2 year period to be roaming the streets causing mayhem at CsA while roam was burning. I say burn down that political niche

Only one. The place was infested. Let the stations advertising dollars go to the private radio stations where it will increase innovation and create quality. The space monster can do a joint show with RF.

Clearly delusional. The country has been regressing for the past twenty years, of which you governed 15 years. All evidence (both quantitative & qualitative) suggest that you were doing a less than desirable job at managing the country. Just last year, you were kicked out of office for that reason. Yet you want the new administration to continue doing things your way??? NO WAY!!! Extraordinary leadership needed. Not your kind. You are without a doubt, out of your mind! Get a grip!!!

Bold move Mr.PM. Do what is in the best interest of the country. Radio St. Lucia has been a political niche for the last administration.
