Press Release:-An industrial row is brewing between the National Workers Union (NWU) and the Management of the St. Lucia Hospitality Industry Credit Cooperative Society Ltd.
At the centre of the industrial dispute is the termination of an employee’s service without due process. The NWU has lodged its strong objection and referred the matter to conciliation.
Labour Commissioner, Mr. Ray Narcisse brought the parties together to discuss the matter. As a result of the case presented by each side the Commissioner made a recommendation for implementation to bring closure to the issue.
The NWU is patiently awaiting word from the Commissioner before a crucial meeting can be held by the National Workers Union with the employees.
The NWU is the bargaining agent for the said employees.
