Marisule man missing after fishing trip

A Marisule man has been reported missing following a fishing trip on the weekend.

Vencly Eugene, 27, was first reported missing on Sunday May 14, 2017.

Relatives say he went fishing with a friend the night before.

The men headed out on separate kayaks at Choc and proceeded to separate areas to throw their lines, according to the missing man’s sister, Diana Eugene.

It wasn’t until the friend came looking for Vencly the following day that the family discovered he had not returned from sea, Ms. Eugene said.

She said the family alerted the authorities and the coast guard has been leading a search.

Four days after he was last seen, his family is holding out hope that Vencly Eugene will return home safely.

“I believe he’s just stranded somewhere,” Ms. Eugene said.

An avid fisherman, Vencly was involved in an accident at sea last September, when a vessel reportedly crashed into his boat while he slept.

His sister said his wounds have not fully healed.

“He spent a few days at the hospital in ICU. Everybody thought he was going to die. That boy is not even a hundred percent yet, he’s not even cured properly but his love for the sea always takes him back there,” she said.

So you mean the friend did not check for him on his return to the sea shore. What did he thought when when he left for his home? Did it occurred to him that his friend may be still out there. I thought they went out fishing together.
That friend need to be questioned.

That’s rather fishy to me cause if the 2 of yall went to fish together but on different kayaks that friend didn’t even care to look got his friend when he came back on shore ….what’s about even going to the friend house later in the evening to check up on him or to see if he caught Any fish u wait till next day to go check that friend …wow what kind of friend is this . Not unless it was a little more than jus fishing an one friend betrayed the other but that so-called friend needs to be questioned #MY-OPINION
