Members convened for sensitization workshops and a solidarity walk.
President of the Saint Lucia Civil Service Association (CSA) Yvonne Edwin has joined members in celebrating the 66th anniversary of the CSA as a trade union body.
The CSA president said the association is continuing its thrust to develop and engender greater networking among members through various fora. The 66th anniversary was preceded by a week of activities that began on Labor Day (May 1). Among activities were sensitization workshops targeted at the CSA Women’s Committee and young workers, and a solidarity walk bringing together sister unions.
“We would like to wish all our members a happy anniversary, as the organization continues to grow stronger and build on the foundation that has been set by our forefathers. The purpose of the organization is to represent our members and to ensure they have adequate working conditions.”
The Saint Lucia Civil Service Association is now organizing a retiree’s day to honor its retired members.
The Government of Saint Lucia has recognized and accepted the CSA as a representative of its employees for the purpose of collective bargaining on matters concerning conditions of employment and general interest and welfare of the Civil Service.
