Two Pastors charged with sex offences

Two  Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Pastors have been charged by the police for indecent assault and unlawful sexual connection, law enforcement sources here have said.

Both men are reported to have been granted bail when they appeared in court this week.

The exact nature of the accusations against the duo was not immediately clear.

I know we like to be judge and jury in all cases except our family’s own.
I would like to know what is the difference between a pastor and my father or you brother.
They all are males who are attracted to the opposite sex, whom if not applying self control to their fantasies will just get caught.that’s all!

Yes I agree. A pastor is no different from my father or brother, however as a LEADER of the church, you cannot preach to members about fornication and adultery or any sexual sin when you yourself doing it. Pastors should be an example to church members just like a parent would be an example to their children. These pastors are the same ones condemning members when they go astray.

the same place you stand strong is the same place you fall.

      May 26, 2017 at 6:49 am

Though this rings true to an extent, once you accept the job of LEADING others spiritually, there is a higher level of moral/spiritual responsibility one is expected to adhere to. A case of a Sheppard leading his flock so to speak. Else, what is the point. I understand we are all sinners and falter at times, but, there are just certain lines that men/women of the cloth are not expected to cross.

She’s not lying u need to know your facts about these pastors. Open your’ll eyes. Months ago the mission told the congregation that they were low on funds this time it’s they’re on study leave. One of the pastors preached at the crusade in marisule. I am a seventh day adventist and I believe that the youth needs to know what’s going on because they’re the ones preaching these same things to us. I know they’re not perfect but these people go about condemning girls who get pregnant in the church and different things. Their sins found them. The seventh day adventist church is no different from the other religions. It’s okay as its being done under the covers

I grew up for the first seventeen years of my life in the church for both of by parents were devout Seventh Day Adventists. After attaining adulthood, I have never once returned. Whilst worshiping among the congregation, I found the members to be of noble faces hiding their filthy and hideous ways by wearing fancy suits and dresses and using flattering words. Where do you find the most gossip, hypocrisy, jealousy, selfishness, animosity and conflict, in the church. There is no need for any complex religion, all I need is love in my heart . That’s my religion.

    May 24, 2017 at 3:40 pm

Judge not that you be not judged, for whatsoever a man sow that shall he reap. You who are judging have just make yourselves God over the matter. We all have heard but not seen or tested to see if this is true or not. If it is true let God be the Judge and if not then he will also judge. Why don’t we worry about our relationship with God, looking to be saved. All I read is people judging sinners like them. You sin, but don’t judge your sins, why the Pastors, whether SDA, Catholic, Sunday, they are all human and human beings fall. Jesus was the only man who didn’t sin. He that is without sin let him cast the first stone. We cannot judge for we were not present and we don’t know what happen. Leave it to God and keep your eyes on Jesus.
Some of you Adventist who have backslidden, who have posted, it is because of lack of relationship with God, sin, that you left the church, because you treasured sin more than God, so stop judging and come back home that you may be saved. Jesus is coming again. Don’t worry about people, worry about your own salvation. Heathen or hell. Have a good day. I rest my case.

The problem with all of this is as human beings when we hear of the failure of others, we tend to rejoice that it happened to somebody else. The truth is the “jury is still out” on all of us. When we hear of the demise of others, we ourselves should take heed less we fall. We are demonstrating two problems in our commentaries. We are criticizing an entire church for the shortcomings of an individual or two. and we are harsh and merciless and we don’t even know the facts as yet. Anyone who commits crimes will be dealt with according to the law. If they are wrongly accused, they will hopefully be vindicated. Let the facts come out, let the pastors tell their side of the story and let justice be done. In the meantime I will resolve myself to being a well grounded human being so my actions will match my words. Remember the words of the Carpenter from Nazareth whose name happens to be Jesus. “Love your enemies and do good to those who despitefully use you”… Let us be reflective instead of judgmental. Praying for all of you who have expressed your views.

Non Genuine: If you are living a perfect life please comment… as a matter of fact perhaps today is these guys tomorrow it might be your turn.. Stop the pretense and the bashing because the facts of the allegations have not been released. Grant people the same kind of due diligence that you would want granted to you

All the comments express people’s frustrations disappointments and disgust about the Church as well as some comments seek to justify the alleged actions by pacifying the ordeal, still others are being sympathetic to the victims and perpetrators. Yet I take no sides but simply to encourage all in this thought that: It’s a solemn thing to die, but a far more solemn thing to live. Every thought and word and deed of our lives will meet us again. What we make of ourselves in probationary time, that we must remain to all eternity. Death brings dissolution to the body, but makes no change in the character. The coming of Christ does not change our characters; it only fixes them forever beyond all change. So this though should engross our attention and time that we spare no time dwelling on others misfortunes but rather to examine ourselves continually.

Before 1517, every Christian was Catholic.

As such, today we know that:

If you are Lutheran then your Church was founded by Fr Martin Luther in Germany in 1517.

If you are Menonite, your Church was founded by Grebel, Mantz and Blaurock, in 1525.

If you are Anglican, then your Church was founded by King Henry XIII in 1534.

If you are a Presbyterian, then your Church was founded by John Knox in 1560.

If you are a Congregationalist, then your Church was founded by Robert Brown, in Holland in 1583.

If you are Baptist, then your Church was founded by John Smith in Amsterdam, in 1606.

If you are a Methodist, then your Church was founded by John Murray in New Jersey, in 1770.

If you are a Mormon or Latter Day Saint, then your church was founded by Joseph Smith in New York, in 1829.

If you are a Seven Day Adventist, your Church was founded by William Miller in 1831.

If you are Salvation Army, then know that your Church was founded by William Booth in 1865.

If you are Jehovah Witness, then know that your Church was founded by Charles Russell in 1872.

    Here at home:

If you are Redeemed Christian Church of God, then you know that you were founded in 1952 by Josiah Akindayomi.

If you are a member of Deeper Life Bible Church, then you were founded by Pastor William Kumuyi in Lagos in 1973.

If you are Mountain of Fire, then you were founded by Dr. Daniel Olukoya in 1989.

we can go on and on…

I have listed these not to denigrate anyone but just to set the records straight.
The Catholic Church has remained where it has been since Christ instituted the Eucharist, called the Last Supper.
We continue to do over and over what He commanded when He uttered those holy words over the bread and cup, take and eat, take and drink and ordered them to do this in His Memory
until He comes again (Mt. 26:26).

I’ll say. Christians are not perfect people although some pretend to be holy but I say again it is pretend. Christians get tempted all the time and even more so as we are trying to resist the Devil but we are also weak. Christians are just normal people who believe in the return of Christ who has accepted his life sacrifice and trying with his grace to leave a good life. But it’s not a easy task.
I’ll also say that we Christians are not either under the law so we should and will be punished by law like everyone else.
So to do to everyone that because we are Christians we don’t shelter our own.
Please, take guarde not to put all your trust in men bot only in God. Pastor are here to teach and remind us of what Hod requires of us. But everyone study the bible for themselves so that they can recognise right from wrong. At the end the choice is theirs cause God made us all free.
It’s like politicians we vote all the time expecting this one will do good just to be shocked at the end but that doesn’t stop us from hoping and wanting and fighting for our country.
Again. We Christians are like everybody with weaknesses. And I know you’ll say he is a “pastor ” well, the ones at the top are always the dirtiest: politicians, pastor, priest. But please judge the sinner not the Belief.

All that everyone says on here may be true or not true , but let’s all remember we all will have to God an account for ourselves… not as a religion, nor can we use other people’s evil as excuse for our own… will we tell God “the pastor and priest did it so I did it too”..?

I have been reading some comments on this site for a little while now, and at times some of the comments are so negative and not called for. Sad to say that some of us lucians are so negative. We are too quick to judge. For all have fall short. We should be looking up to God and not man. We blame the Goverment, society, each other . We all need to look at our self and ask the question,”What am I doing to make a difference in my country. If every time someone though of saying something negative, they whispered a word of pray, it would start a change. St.lucia needs the touch of God. God has warned us over and over, yet we don’t take heed. “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.’
We need to be walking under the open heavens in other for God to heal our land. Some of us even blame God, we need to take responsibility for our actions. I know some persons are mad at me for writing, but it’s okay.
Yes the pastors fell short, they have an advocate with the father to make it right. I’m not saying they are right. It’s wrong, God’s will hold them accountable, lets’ check yourself and make it right with God.

Blame the victim. Each one of those pastors have been doing this for a long time. I know several of their victims. But don’t worry they are encouraged by that lady and they are speaking up. Some have even gone to the police. Let me encourage you ladies stand up and speak out. I will keep praying for the families.

No one is Blaming the Victim. This is what is wrong with our society we refuse to be objective. Blame the Pastors, Blame the Victim. ? How about this examine the facts and allow the judicial system to come to a conclusion. Why do we lucians feel the need to be judge, jury and executioner. Mwen Las
