Relatives of Saint Lucia’s latest homicide victim, Kim Isidore, also known as ‘Coco’ have described him as a very loving individual.
“He was a very loving brother; a fantastic uncle. You would ask anybody about him and they would tell you that Coco was just the most jovial person,” his sister recalled.
According to her, everyone has ups and downs.
“I leave it to God to judge him – the people that out there that want to judge him, that’s up to them. Today it might be my grief, tomorrow it’s theirs,” the sister declared.
She expressed concern about the current spate of gun violence, asserting that it has to stop.
She disclosed that another brother died ten years ago just opposite where Isidore was shot last night.
“He got shot in his head and now they took my younger brother. But that’s the last brother of mine they are going to take,” the sister stated, adding that Isidore was her mother’s last son.
The mother of the deceased, who preferred that her name not be mentioned, told reporters that she got received a telephone call last night informing her of a shooting incident at Cacao, Babonneau.
The mother said when she arrived on the scene, she recognised that it was her son.
She explained that ‘Coco’ was lying unresponsive in an ambulance.
“The ambulance take over half an hour – the ambulance wasn’t starting. They had to look for jump start, whatever, whatever, then they took him to hospital,” she recalled.
The mother said after her son was taken to Victoria Hospital, a Doctor explained that Isidore, 26, had died.
He is reported to have been shot three times.
The deceased had two young children.
Law enforcement sources told the Times that Isidore was playing dominoes with some friends when a masked man walked up and fired three shots in his direction before running off into the night.
The victim is said to have jumped into his vehicle in an apparent attempt to give chase, but the car crashed into a wall.
Isidore was taken to Victoria Hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
