Belrose pledges support to slain infant’s family

The Minster of Equity, Social Justice, Empowerment, Youth Development, Sports, Culture and Local Government, Fortuna Belrose has issued a statement on the recent death of a nine month old baby at Marchand.

Ms. Belrose said her Ministry said her Ministry has been in touch with the grieving family and arrangements were being made to assist.

“We are connected to the family and we are trying our best to ensure that we provide the support that would enable her to be in a different environment at this point in time,” Belrose said.

Belrose said the bigger picture surrounding this tragic incident is the issue of unemployment.

Referring to the mother of the child, Belrose stated “we are working at ensuring that we can improve the life and make a difference in the young lady’s well-being as a citizen of this country.”

It had to take a tragedy of that magnitude for the government to realise that unemployment is the issue.
    Come on.
Being a single parent is not easy especially in St.Lucia.
I am speaking from experience because I am one.

UGLYrose is a national disgrace. No wonder she doesn’t get to speak to the media as often. She sang for her supper and it succeeded, that’s about it.

Politicians are the worst. She is only issuing a statement because the family lives in the constituency that she seeks to represent. Did she issue similar statements when other recent tragedies took place in other parts of the island?

how you pledging government support for the woman when you dont even know who harm the baby? in most of the cases of children being killed, the parents are involved. u have to keep an open mind before u run and support something that u regret later. right now the woman can come and cry blood but we dont know what really happen.
