Philip Dalsou has refuted reports that he’s been fired as Acting Cabinet Secretary in the Office of the Prime Minister announcing that he was moving to become Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Economic Development.
At the weekly pre-cabinet press briefing Monday, Mr. Dalsou said the information which came across on social media, claiming that he was fired, was false.
“I just want to indicate very clearly that all of what was stated in there was false and absolutely there’s no truth to any of what was actually stated in those reports in social media” he said.
Mr. Dalsou said he’s had a good time acting as Cabinet Secretary and enjoyed a warm relationship with all the ministers.
However he revealed that Prime Minister Chastanet wanted him moved to the Ministry of Economic Development; an area, Dalsou said, was his old strength being a trained economist.
“It’s an area that I believe I will enjoy and an area I’m looking forward to working with the minister.”
Dalsou previously acted for one year as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Finance.
He is set to take up his new post on June 1st, 2017.
