Martinique investigates ‘potential’ terrorist threat

Authorities in Martinique are investigating a potential terrorist threat by a 36-year old man on the outskirts of Fort Saint Louis on Friday, Martinique 1 Ere has reported.

The man was taken into custody.

Quoting unnamed sources, Martinique 1ere said that on Friday at around 6:30 pm, the 36 year old Riviere Pilote resident parked his vehicle on the sidewalk in front of Fort Saint Louis, a seaside fortress that also serves as a naval base.

The man is reported to have  headed for the security station where he allegedly uttered threats after requesting answers to the involvement of France in different conflicts in Africa, Syria and elsewhere.

According to reports, the man was apparently unhappy with the answers he received from a security officer.
