Scooter rider injured in collision with vehicle

A motor scooter rider was injured this evening in a  collision with a motor car near the Choc bridge.

The rider and the motor car were heading in opposite directions at the time of the accident at around 7. pm, according to reports.

An eyewitness told the Times that the injured man, who was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident, was transported to hospital via ambulance.

The extent of his injuries was not clear.

    I’m a biker my self but honestly speaking some of dem young riders does really over do it especially on dem scooters just earlier today I witness a vehicle had to pull over for a guy on a scooter pure madness…..and most of dem has no permit nor insurance…..smh

    There so many scooters on the roads. Scooters are not sold here. There are no scooter dealers in St lucia, so where they coming from. How come transport board licence these scooters. The police should stop these Scooters and ask for legitimate ownership. Somehow I believe the Scooters arrive her under dubious and clandestine circumstances.

      U jackarsss scooter can be imported just like vehicles…most vehicles are not purchased from dealers…so how do they get here???

    ……..meanwhile the authorities do not give a damn! Some public servants are useless to our productivity!

    I say this because every other day is an avoidable traffic accident on our northern roads….helmet less fools are terrorizing innocent road users especially on a Sunday and holiday.
