T&T: A Roman Catholic priest was robbed at gunpoint as he prayed inside his church in Trinidad, according to local media reports.
Father Clyde Harvey, 52, was praying inside the chapel at Holy Rosary/St. Martin’s in Port of Spain when he was attacked by two men brandishing firearms, according to the Trinidad Express.
The incident reportedly occurred around 6am Monday.
Trinidad police have confirmed the incident but have not provided further details.
It’s unclear whether the priest was injured.
Harvey served previously as chaplain at the University of the West Indies and parish priest in Laventille/Morvant, Maloney Gardens, San Fernando.
He is said to be actively involved in social and community programmes and has been working with youths to rid criminal activity in the country.
