Press Release:-Castries, Saint Lucia, June 14, 2017 – Known for its popular “Friday Night Street Party” the nothern town of Gros Islet will come alive on Saturday June 24, 2017 with a Boxing Roadshow dubbed “Saturday Night Fight”.
The Saint Lucia Boxing Association (SLBA) is partnering with the Mayor of Gros Islet and the Gros Islet Town Council to host the event which will be the final roadshow before the much anticipated 9th Annual Creole Boxing Champships to held here in July.
The roadshow will showcase Team Saint Lucia as they prepare for action against visiting boxers from ten countries. Belt time is 8pm . There will be ten exciting bouts with both male and female boxers in different weight divisions and categories.
Ringside entertainment will be provided by the Magnum ladies and Saint Lucia`s best soca artistes and dj`s. The SLBA promises an entertaining and fun-filled atmosphere.
Residents of Gros Islet and environs are ecnouraged to come out in large numbers and support the youngsters who will be on showcase on Saturday June 24 from 8pm on Church Street in the heart of Gros Islet.
Meantime over one hundred and twenty five boxers representing eleven countries have already registered for the Creole Championships which “jab-off” from July 5-9. Nightly admission is $10 general, $5 students and $25 ringside.
