The Government of St. Lucia Confirmes Its Support to St. Lucia Stars

PRESS RELEASE:-Wednesday, June 14th, 2017, The Government of St. Lucia confirmed its support to the St. Lucia Stars.  Dominic Fedee, Minister with responsibility for Tourism, Information and Broadcasting, representing the Government of St. Lucia, expressed his excitement once again to support The Caribbean Premiere League in hosting the first scheduled matches for the season at the Darren Sammy Cricket Ground. Fedee expressed all contracts and commitments would be signed in the upcoming weeks.

Barry Cocorun, Director at CPL, also expressed his gratitude for the support and looks forward to welcoming the rebranded Zouks now St. Lucia Stars to St. Lucia.

Franchise owner Jay Pandya of Royal Sports Club, based in Philadelphia, looks forward to five (5) days of exciting crickets led by St. Lucian born cricketers, Captain Darren Sammy, Johnson Charles and Keddy Lesporis. The team would comprise of some of the most talented cricketers throughout the world namely Shane Watson, Andre Fletcher and Lasith Malinga to name a few.

Paynda proceeded to welcome his on the ground working team to the press and expects this years’ matches held in St. Lucia to be filled with fun, excitement, and superb cricket.

St. Lucia Stars is expected to come alive on the best pitch in the World, August 4th, 10th, 13th, 12th and 15th, 2017
