Opposition Leader Philip J. Pierre says he held a “very good” meeting yesterday with the Police Welfare Association (PWA).
The meeting was held at the Office of the Leader of the Opposition on the corner of High & Chisel Streets, Castries.
Speaking outside the House of Assembly this morning, Mr. Pierre said the discussions focused on “general matters” but he declined to provide further details.
“We had a discussion and we agreed that the discussion would remain between us for the time being,” Pierre told journalists.
The SLP Leader said the meeting was organized to express appreciation to the police for the job they are doing, adding that the majority of police officers are hardworking and work under trying conditions.
He added that he hoped that promises of improved condition, made to the police, are kept.
