Silka Leon, the girlfriend of Grande Riviere shooting victim, Keymuel Alexander, believes jealousy was the motive behind the fatal attack on him.
Alexander, who was also known as Keyon Frederick, was gunned down last week near the home he shared with Leon at Grande Riviere, Gros Islet.
Asked whether the deceased had any enemies that would want to take his life, the girlfriend told the Times that she knew of many.
However Leon, who preferred that a frontal photo not be taken of her, said she did not know which one of the enemies would have murdered Alexander.
“I know for sure that a lot of people were jealous of him because he bought an Audi and this morning I got a call – somebody told me they burned the Audi,” she disclosed.
She explained that although her deceased boyfriend was unemployed, he won a big settlement in a court case in Martinique.
Leon said Alexander has been out of jail for some four years now.
“He got arrested in Martinique but he won his case and they paid him a large sum of money,” she told the Times.
Leon disclosed that Alexander, 43, was compensated for being wrongfully arrested.
She told the Times that he was able to pay for the Audi motor vehicle with the money he received.
Leon declared that she wants justice in the death of her boyfriend with whom she has a ten month old boy.
She recalled that on the night that Alexander was shot, they were supposed to have gone out together but he cancelled the date.
A tearful Leon said she believes her boyfriend was heading home when he was shot a short distance away from the house they shared.
“The key was in his hand,” she told the Times.
Leon said she was told that Alexander was shot several times.
