Forecasters say a weather disturbance in the Atlantic Ocean has a very high chance of developing into a tropical cyclone later this week.
As of Tuesday morning, the low pressure system was about 800 miles west-southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands, according to the National Hurricane Centre (NHC) in Miami.
The NHC says environmental conditions are favorable for a tropical depression or a tropical storm to form within the next 24 hours or so while the low moves westward or west-northwestward at 10 to 15 mph across the tropical Atlantic.
The system has a high chance (70 percent) of developing into a tropical depression, at least, in the next 48 hours and an 80 percent chance in the next five days.
The St Lucia Met Service says the system will continue to be monitored as it moves across the Tropical Atlantic.
