UWP Welcomes Fairmont Hotel in Choiseul

Press Release:The United Workers Party stands resolute with the Government of Saint Lucia in the overall development plan and the vision for the south of the island. It’s been just over a year since the Government took office and already we are seeing a decrease in unemployment and a steady drive toward sustainable employment.

The United Workers Party would like to congratulate the people of Choiseul, the Government and the developers on the recently held sod-turning ceremony on June 29th 2017, for Fairmont St. Lucia in Sabwisha, Choiseul. This latest development has shown the UWP’s commitment to investment in the south and like the rest of Saint Lucia we welcome the community of Choiseul, represented by the Hon. Bradly Felix, in its quest to make more of a significant contribution to the island’s economy.

The United Workers Party is encouraged by the developer’s commitment to providing an avenue for the development of the Arts and Crafts sector in Choiseul and we look forward to their professed commitment to eco-tourism.

We share in the excitement of the community of Choiseul in finally seeing this long awaited development in their community.

Overall, the United Workers Party is pleased that there is a renewed confidence in our island from investors and we look forward to the realization of improved economic growth.

This year alone we will see the opening or launch of several projects in the south including The Race Track aspect of the Pearl of the Caribbean project in Vieux Fort, The OJO Labs Artificial Intelligence Call Centre in Vieux Fort, The Canelles Project in Micoud and the continuation of Range Master Development in Black Bay.

Never before in the history of our country has the South of the island received this much attention and this shows that the United Workers Party Government is delivering on its promise to the people of the South and Saint Lucia as whole.

When this project was announced by Lorne prior to the 2016 election, Bradley called it an election gimmick, today the UWP is now singing it’s praises. Bradley claimed Lorne was doing nothing for Choiseul, and had as his theme song “Lorne it’s too late to say you sorrt for neglecting Choseul”, but a year after his election has only been doing prijects Lorne started. You came in by the ballot box and you will leave by the ballot box Bradley. By the way, what happened to your proposed “warehouse” for Choiseul?

It seems most of these initiatives started under the previous administration, but its all good, no matter who initiate what, once its in the best interest of the people, its all good.

The UWP has absolutely no shame. It has no shame claiming this as their project. It has no shame given that its MP for Choiseul opposed it openly and said he would prefer a factory. When will these politicians be honest with themselves and with the people?

Smh, decrease in unemployment or projected decrease in unemployment???….lol smh.

All of these mentioned project were as a result of the efforts of the previous administration. Thankfully it involved Hotels, outsourcing etc, because if it was anything else, our PM would have pulled the plug as usual.

Wasn’t this announced by the then Government of Saint Lucia and was further pronounced as a lie by this present Government?
Politics I tell you… Today, the Government is proud of an investment that was initially secured by the previous administration…
This is such a badly written press release and atleast, for your own credibility, give credit where it is due with this project.. And this is with the STL Labour Party and the former Parliamentary Representative for Choiseul, Saltibus – Lorne Theophilus.

Well, politicians behave like this all the time, and they get away with it. Not once will people say: go back with that. The manifestation of our shortsightedness is that we accept a position AGAIST the incumbent, embrace the assertions of the opposition and allow the opposition to win the day. Then we look on with mouths wide open as the opposition elements, now in power, adopt the exact position as the previous occupiers of the seat. And this will go on, and on, and on. That’s how we “stay” as a people. But there is still hope.
