After an almost six-year hiatus, Saint Lucia has a new Ambassador Designate from the Republic of Poland.

Her Excellency Agnieszka Frydrychowicz presented her credentials to the Governor General of Saint Lucia, Her Excellency Dame Pearlette Louisy, on Thursday, June 29.

During the ceremony at Government House, Dame Pearlette Louisy commented on Poland’s similarity to the OECS.

“Given Poland’s foreign policy priority of building a strong Poland within the context of a strong political union, Saint Lucia and the Caribbean region stand to benefit significantly from your experience and expertise as we too focus on building strong members of a strong CARICOM community.

The new Polish Ambassador reaffirmed Poland’s commitment to furthering the development of Saint Lucia and the region.

“Poland, as a member of the European Union is committed to partnerships for growth, stability and development in the Caribbean, and supports European Union sustainable programs and projects aimed at improving the quality of life of the people of Saint Lucia in such areas as employment generation, health and energy,” she said.

Ambassador Frydrychowicz also thanked Saint Lucia for its recent vote which afforded the Republic of Poland a seat as a non-permanent member on the United Nations Security Council.
