SLP Calls for Projects in Soufriere to Re-Commence

PRESS RELEASE:-The SLP Soufriere Constituency Group is calling on the Government of Saint Lucia to complete the major projects which were stopped since the UWP assumed office on June 6th, 2016.

The Soufriere Square which was funded by the Government of the Republic of China/Taiwan remains barricaded and is an eyesore for residents and visitors to the town.

The Lay-By project at Colombette, an area frequented by locals and visitors remains unfinished much to the dismay of all since as of June 6th 2016, it had been substantially completed.

Constituents of Soufiere also require an update on the status of:

  • The Bellevedere/Bouton Water Project
  • Old Trafford Improvement Project and other projects planned for Soufriere and its environs.

The residents of Soufriere believe that the Parliamentary Representative Herod Stanislaus should be in a position to convince his government to re-start these projects and to report on the other proposed projects. Failure to do so can be deemed as neglect of his duties as Parliamentary Representative by not effectively representing the people of Soufriere.

Old Trafford Improvement Project, really? The same Old Trafford Dalsan and the SLP were simply willing to have part of it slabbed with no apparent plan for its development? Smh. When the people of Soufriere and the UWP were crying out for you all to recommence the Hummingbird Beach Project to help the town move forward, what happened then? I’m tired all of this B.S. The Labour party only seems interested in the people’s well-being when in opposition and it suits their ulterior motives.

Anonymous, you stated, in part, “The Labour party only seems interested in the people‚Äôs well-being when in opposition and it suits their ulterior motives.”

**Bravo**. You have succinctly, crisply captured it. Completely.
