The mother of Grande Riviere murder suspect, Rawl Casimir, has declared that her son is innocent.
Casimir made his first court appearance at Gros Islet last week Friday and is scheduled to make another appearance in court next month.
“My son have to hold strong because he knows he is innocent,” the mother said.
Casimir was charged with causing the death of Seame Cherry, known as ‘Shem’ and ‘Snake Oil’, who was shot at Piat, Grande Riviere, Gros Islet on June 10, 2017.
According to the mother of the murder suspect, her son was charged by the police on Tuesday of last week.
“All of the fellas were in a party -they had a shooting – Snake Oil or whatever and they say is Rawl and another boy, but Rawl never run nowhere – if somebody shoot somebody, the person not hide?” She reasoned.
She declared that her 23 year old son has been walking about everywhere since the fatal shooting and has never been in trouble with the police.
The mother said she wants justice to prevail.
Casimir’s sister, Leona Casimir, described her brother as a calm individual – a ‘home person’ who loves children.
She also declared her brother’s innocence.
“My brother does not go anywhere – he is just somebody who would stay in the area – if somebody have a party in the area and his friend invite him he would go to the party, but he don’t go out – he don’t go Friday night,” Leona explained.
“My brother don’t have any trouble with nobody since he born, “the sister declared, adding that her brother was never in a fight at school.
“I don’t know why they would want to pin something on my brother that he never commit,” she said.
The sister said she was at the party where the shooting took place.
She said she heard gunshots, after which a man staggered outside and fell to the ground.
