#EducateSaintLucia gains momentum

GIS:-The Ministry of Education Endeavors to Raise 10,000 Knapsacks Filled with School Supplies.

The Department of Education has launched an Educate Saint Lucia initiative. The initiative will help the many students who find it hard to attend school due to financial constraints.

Minister for Education, Innovation, Gender Relations and Sustainable Development, Hon Dr Gale Rigobert, has stated that these limiting hindrances are an occurrence that can no longer be tolerated.

“Very often you and I encounter students who are exceptionally brilliant but because of their economic challenges at home they are unable to attend school, have adequate meals, nutrition, or sometimes they may not have the requisite school supplies and materials. The #EducateSaintLucia initiative was born out of that concern.

“The first activity to be launched is the backpack initiative. We’re endeavouring to raise 10,000 knapsacks filled with school supplies, and already, we have had the good fortune of benevolent partners pledging to support this initiative.”

The minister said she was pleased that the initiative, although in its early stages, is gaining momentum.
