One man is reported dead and three others sustained serious injuries as a result of a boating incident at around midnight Friday, according to the police.
The incident occurred when a Marine Police vessel attempted to intercept a canoe, it is reported.
Initial reports indicate that the canoe, which had four persons on board, rammed the police vessel resulting in extensive damage to the canoe.
The four persons on board the canoe – two Venezuelans and two Saint Lucians, sustained serious injuries.
One of the men was later pronounced dead by a Doctor at St Jude Hospital, according to the police.
He was identified only as a Saint Lucian who was the Captain of the canoe.
