St. Lucia Crisis Centre Conducts Disaster Preparedness Workshop in Collaboration with NEMO (National Emergency Management Office)

PRESS RELEASE:-The St. Lucia Crisis Centre will be conducting a one day Disaster Preparedness workshop in collaboration with the National Emergency Management Office on Monday August 7th from 10:00a.m. to 2:00p.m. at the Centre. The workshop is geared towards disaster preparedness planning and sensitization for our members/clients. The workshop information will help empower individuals to prepare in the event of a disaster. We in St. Lucia are at risk to many types of disasters and they tend to have a greater impact on the less fortunate. Such persons are not able to invest in measures to lessen their risk from a disaster and these conditions make it difficult to maintain homes and prepare for a potential disaster. Therefore, it is imperative that we educate and prepare our vulnerable people which will contribute to resiliency.
