Relatives of Jn Baptiste Flemius whose body was discovered at Vigie beach on Sunday are in shock and disbelief at his death, a sister of the deceased has disclosed.
Police say the young man’s death is being treated as a suspected drowning.
An autopsy is scheduled to be performed on Tuesday.
“We just cannot believe it happened you know – that was the baby of the family,” the sister of the deceased told reporters.
However she explained that the family is trying to cope.
Th sister, who is the first of five siblings, said that Jn Baptiste Flemius, who is also known as Junior, was a bright student.
The sixteen year old attended the Vide Bouteille Secondary school.
His sister said he was ‘very helpful.’
The mother of the teenager disclosed that she promised to go with him to the beach on Saturday, but he went with his friends instead.
The mother explained that she left home early and went to her grandmother’s house while Junior was sleeping.
According to the mother, her son loved the beach.
The body of Jn Baptiste Flemius is reported to have been discovered amid some rocks at Vigie.
